We had a great evening at this years Radio Ceredigion Local Hero Awards 2018 held at the Cliff Hotel. Of course, the room was full to the brim of inspirational people across a range of awards, from Mum of the Year to Sports Person of the Year and of course the final, Inspiration of the Year.
We were lucky enough to sponsor the Community Champion 2018 – this was won by a fabulous gentleman called Ian Stoker (see the image below!). Ian spends up to 9 hours a day collecting rubbish and clearing dog mess around his local area, and received 77 nominations for this award across social media and on the Radio Ceredigion website. It really was astounding and such an inspiration to us all to go out there and help our local area and community in whatever way we can.
