Wow – well, what a year! I actually say this every year, but it is true. When we started back in 2013, we had some ideas of where we’d like to be eventually, and where we’d like the business to go. 2018 certainly delivered on that, not only on the website design and digital marketing aspect, but within the Aberystwyth Business Hub too.
We’ve been really fortunate this year to win some great awards with Gwe Cambrian Web – not only in Wales but nationally too, as well as meeting some truly great and inspirational people along the way. You know who you are, and we know that 2019 is going to be great for you all too!
We also spent a lot of time working with new businesses, meeting business owners who needed a new focus for their marketing and really getting stuck in helping and inspiring people. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with new connections and to watch people and their businesses grow.
Of course, we launched a great list of new websites across the year and we’ve got plenty to get on with in January with some very exciting and large projects looking to launch in the first 12 weeks of 2019. What strikes us most of those projects? They’re all bilingual, wanting websites that visitors can browse in Welsh or English, and also ones that their own users can update via a dashboard that is in Welsh or English. We’re just delighted that the Welsh language is being used as a common choice for our WordPress websites, and that more and more emphasis on bilingual websites is being adopted too. It’ll be an exciting time for the Welsh language in the next few years on digital that is for sure.
So what does 2019 bring? We’ll be entering our third year running the Aberystwyth Business Hub, we’ve already got plenty of projects lined up to launch in the new year and we hope to be able to work with many more as the new year starts. Already we’re planning a great business conference over 2 days in October 2019 here in Aberystwyth, as well as branching out to offer free workshops and drop in sessions for social media, branding and WordPress websites. We’re here to help, and that’s something we’ve always felt very keen to do. There are other plans in the pipeline too, so keep an eye on our news section.
